About the assignment
The assignment concerns a consulting role where you will act as a construction manager within the Swedish Transport Administration's Norrbotniabanan program. You will be involved in the planning of the production phase and serve as a resource reinforcement in the client's project organization for road and railway-related projects.
Norrbotniabanan is one of Sweden's largest infrastructure projects and involves the construction of a approximately 270 km long single-track railway between Umeå and Luleå, including associated land and construction work required for a modern and sustainable railway.
About the role
As a construction manager, you will work closely with project management and play an important role in monitoring and coordinating contracts from a client perspective. The focus is on ensuring that production is carried out according to agreements, technical requirements, and the project's goals.
Your responsibilities include, among others:
- Coordinate and follow up contracts within the assigned area from a technical, time, and economic perspective
- Support the project manager in production technical issues and in decision-making
- Ensure that work is performed according to contracts, drawings, and other documents
- Be responsible for ongoing contact and collaboration with contractors and other construction managers
- Monitor quality, environment, work environment, and safety in production
- Identify deviations and risks and contribute suggestions for measures
- Follow up contractors' self-controls, control plans, and work preparations
- Participate in inspections and review final documentation and as-built documents
- Maintain and review the diary and document important events
- Participate in meetings, take minutes, and contribute to the follow-up of quantity regulation
- Contribute to knowledge transfer within the project organization
Mandatory requirements
All requirements must be clearly stated in your CV, including periods, assignments, scope, and responsibilities.
- At least 5 years of experience as a site manager, construction manager, foreman, project manager, assignment manager, or equivalent for assignments related to construction contracts within road and/or railway. The work experience should not be older than 10 years. (At least 30% employment rate per year of experience).
- At least 3 years of the above experience must be as a construction manager, alternatively as an inspector in land projects. (At least 30% employment rate per year of experience).
- Documented education or experience in AMA Anläggning and AMA MER 17 or later edition. Will be checked at the start of the assignment.
- Documented education or experience in General Terms (AB04). Will be checked at the start of the assignment.
- Valid driver's license (B).
Assignment information
The assignment is to start no later than 2026-04-13 and lasts for 2 years from the date the contract comes into effect.
Option: The client has the unilateral option to extend the contract with existing contractual terms for an additional 1+1+1+1.
Scope: The estimated workload for the assignment is 100 percent of annual working time, amounting to 1,700 hours for one consultant.
The stationing location for the resource consultant is Skellefteå. This assignment requires physical presence at the Swedish Transport Administration's office in Skellefteå.
